A little about me...
I strive to belly-laugh at least once a day. I believe life should be fun and easy, so I don't sweat the small stuff. I am a minimalist - am looking forward to downsizing my house, my stuff. I'd rather do BBQ and beer in the backyard with good conversation than go out on the town. I'd rather have "experiences" than jewelry or "things". I clean up well if I need to, but prefer jeans and t-shirts.

I have learned several languages, lived around the world, like to explore and understand different cultures, not just visit museums. At home it's so much fun to have friends over, cook and watch a movie, etc. I tend toward the philosophical, appreciate a good down to earth conversation. Love cats, don't have any now, but have a small dog.

About the one I'm looking for...
Not looking for someone to make me happy. That's my own job. Looking for that friend that I can become close to: make dinner, watch a movie, drink some wine or beer, have thoughtful conversations, fix up our houses, our gardens, go to a concert, laugh and cry with each other, be there for each other. Looking for someone who is as independent as I am and wants the same, a relationship where we accept each other the way we are and encourage our good sides. Doesn't seem that tough to me, but I guess it must be because I'm not getting any answers here! Why not? Would like to find out! Please share. thanks!

I'd just like to add...
Taste in music: mostly Rock, from Peter Gabriel to Pink Floyd, REM to 3 Doors Down, some classical, esp. the Russian composers. Not really interested in going out much, I'm too frugal to spend the money and it's more fun at home. I do love sushi and sake, mexican, mediterranean, indian, thai, etc. Love to eat and cook ethnic foods. My 17 year old son and his friends will be gone soon, but for now, they're here, they're way too much fun to be around, and I love them all.
