I come from a huge Catholic family of 7 kids raised in Richfield MN. My Mom and Dad were madly in love for the duration of their 56 year marriage. I am # 2 child, and I don't sit still for very long. As a child, I was a swimmer, skater, basketball and baseball player. My sister and I rode bikes everywhere and we loved girl scouts and camping.
Currently my bicycle is my favorite recreation in the summer as well as roller-blading and hiking. Winter allows for skating and cross country skiing. I surround myself with any possible experience involving theatre, arts, music and all things creative. I love to cook, sew, garden, scuba dive and do hair. BBQ in the summer a must, a little croquet too. Movies are great year-round...

Have been a caregiver for over 20 years. Now alone, ready to rebuild a life. Outside interests include bicycling, canoeing, skiing, hiking, tennis, theater, maintenance workouts, writing, politics; I'm an inactive private pilot; dabble(d) in piano lessons. Live in semi-rural Minnesota, 25 miles south of Minneapolis, on a 20 acre hobby farm, lake. Am a Mensa area coordinator. I consider myself fairly intelligent, fairly literate, and can converse and write on a rather diverse number of subjects.

Think I have reasonable strength of character, sense of humor; accepting of others; fairly sound intellectually and emotionally. Accept others at face value, participate in their interests. I take good care of myself, with a careful diet, strenuous exercise; I could and would joyfully participate in helping raise an existing or new child.

Not at all sure why I'm doing this; might hope to run into someone equally off-plumb who'd want to communicate somehow, participate in activities I enjoy... and I want to learn of and enjoy what she prefers.

I almost always need to be outdoors, love old architecture, nature, water.... essentially moving about and conversation. My friends say that I will start up a conversation with anyone. I usually sense when someone is not a good person-usually. I am a hard worker because that is who I was brought up to be. A bit of a tom-boy I suppose, but I like being treated like a woman. I have been divorced (after 32 years of marriage) for about two years and am thoroughly enjoying this process of creating the life of my dreams!! I have three grown daughters and three delightful grandchildren. My work is important to me (I'm a licensed psychologist), but I am learning to take more "fun time" for myself. I was raised a southern gentleman and still treat a lady as she should be treated. I always pay the bill for our outings (I don't understand the guys pawning of paying for the entertainment...) If a guy doesn't want to pay for your activities, then I have to wonder about his being a gentleman...
